Large glass areas, west-facing windows and strong afternoon sun can increase cooling load. Shaded rooms may need less.
Older or poorly insulated homes can lose heat faster in winter and gain heat faster in summer. Air sealing and insulation matter.
Ductless heads work best when conditioned air can reach the occupied space. Hallways, closed doors and divided floor plans affect whether one zone can serve multiple areas.
Heating performance matters as much as cooling. Final equipment selection should consider the home's heating load and the selected Daikin system's performance at lower outdoor temperatures.
Cooking appliances, electronics and regularly occupied rooms can add heat. Bedrooms and low-load spaces may behave differently from busy living areas.
COMMON QUESTION
Not necessarily. Oversizing can cause short cycling, uneven temperatures and reduced humidity control. Undersizing can leave a system struggling during hotter or colder weather. The goal is to match capacity to the actual load of the space—not simply install the largest unit that fits.
